Progress Started: Get better at making candles that don't burn unevenly. I plan to make some tapers soon for everyday use at our house.
New Goal: Craft a working candle from 3 different materials.
New Goal: Learn how to make beeswax candles.
Progress Report: I'm in the process of making 6 votive candles. I got a good price on some molds so I decided to give it a go with my friend's kid. We had some fun for sure and she wants to make more. Also, I went with soy wax to start as it was easy to get on Amazon in 10lb size. I need to let the candles sit for 4-5 hrs to harden before removing them from the mold. Then wait 2 days to let them cure. I'm sure I'll be hearing lots about making more until then.
Progress Started: To make candles out of parrafin wax. Possibly I can learn to make candle's out of other things such as lard, etc. I want to make tealights and pillar candles.
Progress Report: After trying to find some local sellers of candle supplies I ended up going to Amazon. It seems nobody here sells the candle making supplies. Soy wax, beeswax, some wick holders and a spool of wick were promptly delivered to my house. I decided to try a tall candle using a Pringles chip can as a mold; I saw it on YouTube.
