Goal Completed: Initial goal was to frame out the basement, but due to the timelines ended up having a professional finish the basement. During the process though, I spent a few days watching and assisting and in the summer replaced several sections of exterior trim that had dry rot (by myself).
New Goal: there are many wood structures I wish to construct. and gain carpentry skills in the process.
Goal Completed: I have finally achieved my goal, which I set last year for my 13 skills, of building my Chicken house out of wooden pallets.
New Goal: Complete my wooden pallet chicken house, the goal which was set last year.
Goal Completed: Work with carpenter and learn trade.
New Goal: Make at least three large objects from wood.
Goal Completed: Not just stand around and watch while the men build me things.
Progress Report: I made decent progress on this skill. I built four major structures. I will carry this over.
Progress Report: Recently finished making two legitimate wood working saw horses. FINALLY. It took many more hours than I thought, but I learned so much making these things, to include becoming very intimate with the chisels. Next up, I'm making a moveable goat shelter.
Progress Started: to begin learning how to be mildly sufficient with working with wood. I have started accumulating the tools necessary for being successful in basic carpentry. I have read a few books and have done some very small projects, but now I"m ready to take it up a notch. It is my intent to build a book shelf or two, some quality hand saw based saw horses, and most importantly some shelving and frames for aquaponics.
