Progress Report: Made some blackberry jam over the weekend and used a water bath to seal the canning jars. In total we have Raspberry Pomegranate jam, Pepper jelly, and Blackberry jam.
Goal Completed: Have canned meats but would like to can more meats and try water bath canning so I can can both meat and produce.
update: Found a very local butcher whom I can get cheap meats from. Will try to get a good chunk from him and can those. WIll try to get that done with a batch of chicken strips I am canning since we use a lot of chicken.
After a recent inventory I think we have enough canned meats for now. I missed canning produce, but that was due to a rather unproductive garden season. Will try again next time, but with the winter approaching and our meat supply in good shape-and with the lack of further storage space-I am calling t
Progress Report: Ok, so I spent all summer processing all of my garden produce. I filled up a pantry, freezer, and refridgerator with all sorts of home grown fruits and nuts and produce. Boy, does that feel wonderful.
Goal Completed: Make Jelly.

Goal Completed: Learn and exercise the basics of Water Bath and Pressure Canning.
New Goal: Learn to preserve food through canning. Can at least 5 fruit, 5 vegetables and 3 meats.
